We go by car to Kopparåsen, starting from route E10 and bike to former copper findings at Koukkelplaeau. The terrain is varied, ranging from easy to medium and on some areas we must get off and lead the bikes over the tricky parts. There are remnants from the time when workers were looking for copper and there is an old building that has been used by the mining foremen. The surrounding area is airy and you see far away once you are up on the mountain plateau. Lapporten and Torneträsk is visible in the east. In the west, you can view the Norwegian mountains and in north you spot Sweden’s northernmost national park Vadvetjokka. If it´s the right time of the season, it´s possible to pick some fresh cloudberries.
